with Franco Casadio

Virginia Filip is Director of Casa del Angel and has taught yoga since 1995. She studied in India in the Shivananda tradition and with various teachers from Mexico and the United States, practicing different styles.

Her classes are in Vinyasa Yoga with an emphasis on emotional unblocking. For Virginia, the practice of yoga is an opportunity for transformation and change and therefore the postures, the different movements, awareness of the breath and being present in the moment are all opportunities to achieve a greater self-knowledge that leads to greater awareness. In the postures she emphasizes how each breath is intimately linked to the movement and how each movement is a wave that arises from the center, expands and returns to the center.

For Virginia, the practice of yoga is like a dance, and that's why she complements her classes with sessions of spontaneous movement, dance, Sufi turning and free expression, with the purpose of helping people to let go of their self-image, their fears and anxiety. Students develop creativity through discovering freer and more authentic movements. She encourages her students to trust their body and find the pleasure of moving in order to flow and discover the beauty of the moment.

Acupuncture is an important technique in traditional Chinese medicine. Needles are used to stimulate specific points on the body. These points are located in meridians or energy channels that when stimulated make the energy flow, thus generating a balance in the person.

Franco studied Acupuncture and Tuina Massage (Chinese massage) at the Latin American School of Chinese Medicine in Chile. He has practiced Chinese medicine in both Chile and Mexico. As his practice evolved he studied further at the University of Guangzhou, China. He has attended acupuncture congresses in Mexico City and taken specialty courses to treat certain pathologies.

A lover of martial arts, he practices Kung Fu and Tai Chi Chuan.
